Clint Covey
Back in 2001, Clint began his recording career with a cassette 4 track, some SM57 microphones, and started recording any band that would let him put a microphone in front of them. A few years later Clint joined rockabilly band The Shuteye Train and sought out rock producer legend Ed Stasium (produced the Ramones & Reverend Horton Heat) to mix their debut album. Clint recorded the band with guidance on microphones and techniques from Ed, and then handed over the tracks to Mr. Stasium for mixing. Inspired by the success of The Shuteye Train's debut release, Clint decided to open a project recording studio.

The project studio opened in the Fall of 2006, and within the first year Clint had recorded over 50 artists. In fact, the first paying client whom Clint recorded was none other than Nicholas Megalis. A year and a half later, Nick's song "Instances of Shame", recorded by Clint during that first session was featured on MTV's "The Real World".

When Clint started the studio, he had referred several of his clients to mastering engineer TJ Lipple (Dischord Records re-masters) at Silver Sonya to master their albums. Clint would ask TJ for a critique of his work and what to improve for the next recordings. TJ had suggested booking some time with a great engineer, and observe how they worked. Some time later, in March 2008, Clint took TJ's advice and booked a session with Steve Albini (Nirvana "In Utero", The Pixies "Surfer Rosa") to learn recording techniques from one of the most respected engineers in the business. Clint traveled with The Splints to record with Mr. Albini at his Electrical Audio in Chicago.

In time, the studio outgrew its original space and LRR as we know it today opened in June of 2008. Bands come to record with Clint for both his ears and his approach. Most importantly, Clint understands that the musician's opinion is the most important opinion in the studio. After all, it is the client's music which is being recorded, and the client's intent should always be honored first and foremost.
